Description : Another Source’s client, University Shared Services Enterprise (USSE), is recruiting a Director of Financial Reporting to join their team at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. 

 

Here’s a little about USSE and the position they are recruiting for:  

 

The USSE provides shared finance and administration services to the seven public universities in the state of Oregon.  Service offerings include labor relations, financial reporting, payroll, and treasury management. The Financial Reporting Services division of the USSE provides accounting and reporting standards expertise for university clients with preparation of annual financial reports, Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards, Facilities and Administrative Cost rate proposals, capital asset accounting and other accounting services upon request.

Position Summary  

This position is responsible for setting the department vision, providing effective planning and project management, ensuring prepared financial reports are in accordance with GASB, GAAP & NACUBO standards, development of department budget and fee schedules, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, marketing FRS services and developing business and agency relationships.   

 

Reporting to the Executive Director of the USSE, the Director of FRS has the following responsibilities:  

Oversee and direct preparation of the annual financial report for Eastern Oregon University, Oregon Institute of Technology, Oregon State University and Southern Oregon University .  
Oversee and direct the preparation of other federal and state reports and other university requests.  
Consult, train, and provide financial accounting analysis and recommendations to university clients.  
Provide tax analysis and related support to internal and external clients.  
Provide project management leadership in the review and replacement of technology solutions utilized by FRS.  
Participate as a member of the USSE Leadership Team. 
Requirements : Minimum/Required Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Degree with additional coursework in accounting.  
Five plus years of professional accounting or auditing experience.   
Three plus years of leading a team of professionals.  
Qualitative analytical writing and presentation skills and demonstrated ability to collect and analyze data to derive conclusions and recommendations.  
Prepare and analyze complex financial information.  
Create oral and written reports/notes that are clear, concise, and thorough. 

 

Preferred (Special) Qualifications: 

CPA  
Master’s in taxation or tax experience.  
Experience in preparing/analyzing financial reports prepared according to GASB reporting standards   
Experience in researching, analyzing, and applying GAAP and specifically GASB reporting standards.  
Experience in project management development and leadership.  
Proficiency in the development and use of complex spreadsheet applications.  
Experience and knowledge in working with publication software, specifically in Design  
Ability to document and present information and ideas clearly and effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  
Demonstrated ability to work both as a team member and independently. Able to effectively plan and organize the work in order to meet deadlines.   
Strong verbal and written communication skills  
Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Customer service and/or relationship management experience.
