Description : Thyme Care is an oncology digital health start-up that’s focused on radically improving the cancer experience with early and ongoing intervention. We help patients, caregivers, clinicians, health plans, and employers by coordinating integrated care that leads to better results, lower costs, and aligned incentives. Every Thyme Care member is assigned a personalized team of physician-guided oncology nurses and resource specialists who provide education, guidance, and advocacy as they navigate the complex healthcare system. We facilitate quick access to quality resources and high-value care, coordinating directly with providers and offering support every step of the way. Our high-touch, tech-enabled model generates actionable insights that allow us to identify at-risk members earlier and offer them the most relevant support based on where they are in their cancer journey—closing gaps in care and eliminating excess spend.

In this role, your mission is to build and lead the finance organization; enabling the success and hyper growth of Thyme Care. As Director of Finance, you will be our first dedicated finance hire on the team and will take the function from 0-1. It will be your role to develop the proper planning and strategy that ensures Thyme Care meets its headcount, product, and partnership goals on time. You’ll be building the function from the ground up and we’ll expect that...

After 3 months on the job you will have:
- Updated our 3-year financial strategy and roadmap for the business. Through this process, you’ve also helped us shape our current headcount plan and budgets. You’ve run variance analysis to give us several scenarios to work with as we anticipate what the future may bring.
- Partnered with our Business Operations Lead to update metrics that measure performance and drive the business forward.
- Created a KPI dashboard, visible across the company, to track both operational and financial performance.
- Begun partnering with the SLT to improve budget forecasts and integrate strategic financial goals into all of our business operations.

After 6 months you will...
- Be an integral partner to the tech and commercial teams as we sell our products and grow revenue through payer and strategic partnerships.
- Partner with the SLT to guide investor relations and be able to present the financial snapshot of the organization and any scenario analysis in a compelling way.
Requirements : - Comfort with ambiguity. You have a proven track record of success within scaling businesses, fast-paced environments, and startups. You understand that rapid changes to the business, strategy, organization, and priorities is par for the course. You have experienced what it’s like to rapidly scale a function and company.
- Technical Finance Skills. You can build financial models, budgets, and forecasts with ease. You’ve led FP&A for a startup in the past and have prepared for, helped lead, and closed VC financing rounds.
- Effective change agent. You build rapport and great working relationships with senior leaders, peers, and investors and use the relationships you’ve built to drive the business forward.
- People Management. You have led a team in the past and have coached and developed them into A-players.
- Executes well. You are biased to action and get things done. You account for unknowns and recover from setbacks well.
- Domain expertise. It’s a huge plus if you understand the financial strategy behind our business at a high level (unit economics of the care team, risk based contracting, etc.).
- Patient first. You’re personally motivated by our mission and by what we are building. You are naturally empathetic, and desire to understand problems and help people solve them; especially this one.

We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We’re here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal opportunity employer.
