Description : OVERVIEW:
The D. E. Shaw group seeks an intelligent, detail-oriented team player with excellent project management, execution, and communication skills to join its Technical Recruiting function. This individual will work closely with the head of Technical Recruiting to manage and drive forward high-impact projects, innovations, and process enhancements with a focus on front-office tech roles. These projects aim at innovating and improving the firm’s recruiting processes and efficacy. The project lead will be part of an inclusive and engaging team and will enjoy meaningful development opportunities, including the opportunity to oversee active searches for the firm.

WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
The project lead will support and help execute Technical Recruiting initiatives by synthesizing data, leading and managing projects, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and drafting proposals and other communications to senior members of the firm. This individual will interface with groups across our Human Capital group in order to help implement the strategic vision for the Technical Recruiting team. The project lead will also spend 30 to 50 percent of their time as an active recruiter managing and driving forward searches for roles in Technical Recruiting according to the group’s needs.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
• Candidates should have at least three years of previous experience in a role involving project management, data analysis, and problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including keen attention to detail and the ability to draft communications to senior firm stakeholders, are essential.
• The ability to work independently, sound judgment and ethics, superb organizational skills, and the ability to drive projects forward are all required.
• While prior recruiting experience is not required, an interest in learning recruiting skills and in contributing as an active recruiter are both preferred.
• We welcome applicants with varying degree levels (BA, BS, MS, Ph.D.) from any field of study, as our firm has a long history of hiring applicants from the humanities and social sciences.
