Description : This role can be remote/ hybrid. Our client has offices in cities across the country including Austin, Philadelphia, Boston and New York.

Key Relationships
The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) will report to the Chief Financial Officer and have full autonomy to build and shape their organization.

The Opportunity
The CAO will be charged with standing-up and leading the accounting and financial reporting functions including general accounting, tax, A/P, financial reporting and treasury/ cash management. The CAO will also be responsible for managing any transaction related activity such as issuance of new stock, fair market value analysis and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. This is a critical leadership role as our client prepares for a future IPO.

Specifically, the Chief Accounting Officer will:

• Oversee all activities of the accounting department, including the month-end close process, accounting operations, financial reporting, and cash management.
• Oversee and direct the preparation of reports that summarize business results (revenue, expenses and earnings) and financial position (balance sheet and cash flow) of the business.
• Support the Head of FP&A in the preparation of a robust financial reporting package, including insightful analysis of key variances vs. budget and prior year, for use by the executive team, investors and lenders.
• Set priorities and goals for the accounting department. Hire new employees. Develop and manage members of the accounting team.
• Safeguard the company’s assets and establish and maintain corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure conformance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations.
• Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting (continuous improvement).
• Oversight of the operational effectiveness of internal control policies.
• Work with other members of finance team and the executive team to prepare board and investor materials.
• Ensure cost and expense control procedures are in place; analyze cash flow and expenses to guide the executive team.
• Manage external auditors and ensure completeness of all documentation required for annual audits.
• Manage medical group related transaction activities, including new stock issuance and managing current ownership related activities
• Manage valuation processes as required, including fair market value assessments
• Interface with lenders and be responsible for end-to-end deliverables and managing to key leverage parameters
• Support the CFO and executive team on key financial decisions.
Requirements : The qualified candidate will not only possess a rich background with a proven track record in Accounting, he/she will also demonstrate a sincere passion for working within very entrepreneurial and high-growth organizations.

1. Minimum of 12 years of experience in accounting or audit roles with recent, relevant experience as Chief Accounting Officer, Controller or Head of Accounting
2. An active CPA license
3. IPO readiness experience; leading an accounting organization through an IPO process
4. Experience leading/ participating in a PCAOB audit
5. Exposure to private equity sponsored organizations
6. Technology/ SaaS industry experience highly preferred
7. Proven ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company
8. Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to build a team to produce quality results in an efficient manner and simultaneously manage several projects
9. Full understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply GAAP to new and existing transactions
10. Collaborative business partner, adept in building cross-functional relationships to drive business results
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
