Description : As the President’s “Trusted Counsel”, this role will act as sounding board for new strategic ideas, and solutions to operational challenges. The Chief of Staff (COS) is responsible for the coordination and execution of strategic initiative. These projects are strategic in nature and highly complex. This role acts as an executive liaison who will resolve problems and ensure successful implementation of Galderma’s initiatives.

The COS will become adept at compiling reports for the US President and US Leadership Team (USLT), in a succinct format, enabling the President to quickly understand where the business is and the issues it faces. The COS is expected to give opinions on such findings and given the task of designing and rolling out action/project plans.

• Act as key advisor and thought partner to the US President. Take on key decisions and act on behalf of the President.

• Oversee development and implementation across the organization of plans to implement company-wide initiatives.

• Observe implementation of initiatives and strategies and evaluate successes and failures for learning and refining next initiatives.

• Build trusting relationships with leaders and teams across the organization to produce joint recommendations on policies, strategic issues, and new initiatives.

• Prepare critical speaking engagements and communications for the US President, working with Communications team.

• Help organize major leadership events – in particular, Executive Committee off sites, and Leadership summit (e.g., selection of venue, speakers, briefing).

• Develop and monitor President’s budget, N-1’s goals and coordinate N-1’s year-end reviews.

• Act as an organization thought leader through keeping up to date on developments in industry, competitor developments, consumer trends, and general marketplace conditions that impact performance.

• Review and analyze the company’s financial reports, flagging issues to the President.

• Ensure the President’s time is used efficiently. Review issues in which the President should be aware and frame/position ideas to resolve the problem/mitigate the risk.

• Prepare and organize all aspects of leadership meetings and presentations, including establishing operating rhythms, working with administrative support staff on scheduling, setting agendas, and driving appropriate follow-up. Work with the President to prepare leadership presentations and strategy reviews.

• Perform other duties as required/assigned by President.
Requirements : • Bachelor’s degree required

• MBA or advanced degree preferred (MBA, PhD, MD, JD, etc.)

• Fifteen (15) or more years of progressive experience in wide-ranging, cross-functional business areas is required

• Three (3) or more years of project management experience required

• Two (2) or more years of experience working in or serving the life sciences industry required, which may include management/strategy consulting, private equity, medical practice or law experience, etc.

• Excellent strategic, financial, and analytical skills

• Excellent project management skills

• Results/action-focused

• Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, continuously changing global environment with minimal oversight

• Willingness to work hard and take direction, ownership, and accountability for work

• Highly developed communications skills (written/verbal) and interpersonal savvy

• 10-15% global travel
