The Senior Director of Firmwide Legal Recruiting & Development (LRD) will be responsible for supporting the vision set by Firm leadership for the legal talent function across the areas of recruitment, integration, development, training, retention, and exit of attorneys across all offices and practice areas. The Senior Director will assist with the oversight and coordination of process, programming, leadership, and overall function of the Legal Recruiting & Development department, under the guidance of the various Partner Committee Chairs, the Firm Committee, Chairman, and Chief Administrative Officer.

Supporting the talent strategy for the attorney life-cycle, the Senior Director of LRD must have demonstrated experience across several talent functions, bringing expertise in employer brand, talent acquisition, and employee experience. This person must also have previous experience in a matrixed organization and experience working internationally.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides strategic support and oversight for firm-wide attorney talent services including, recruiting, performance management, attorney engagement, alumni relations, career coaching, and talent operations
Manages the 4 strategic pillars of the LRD department: maintains a strong departmental infrastructure; creates a consistent “one Firm” attorney talent experience; fosters collaboration across offices, departments, and LRD channels; ensures our strategies, processes, and tools stay modern and best in class
Drives and supports a cohesive talent strategy across the Firm and works to further develop a world-class, recognizable talent “brand” both internally and externally
Develops and implements lateral integration program to effectively integrate and appropriately support new lateral attorneys in partnership with local Directors
Manages local LRD leads to ensure established guidelines and best practices are followed and identifies efficiencies
Guides and manages LRD leads on budgets and workflow
Demonstrates proficiency in leveraging talent analytics for both LRD operations and our attorney talent pool for workforce planning purposes
Provides insight and guidance regarding best in class talent operations, technologies, and tools to support efficiency in deliverables and innovative approaches to work
Maintains a high caliber network of industry peers as well as a pipeline of candidates for the LRD workforce of the future
30-50% travel required
Requirements : Qualifications & Requirements

Undergraduate degree in a related field and 15+ years of related experience at a large law firm or other large multi-office professional services firm
Knowledge of NALP and industry practices and standards
Proven strong leadership skills
