Summary
In this newly developed role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a new team to manage IT sourcing. You will also be responsible for long term planning, strategy development, value delivery, and continuous improvement of IT spend categories as well as internal stakeholder management of IT stakeholders and facilitation of supplier management activities


Duties & Responsibilities

• Leads the Category Management process for the IT category spanning (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)
• Proactively engages IT category stakeholders to identify key IT strategy elements, develop / align requirements, set objectives / targets
• Proactively engages IT category stakeholders to establishes definition of value for the category, in alignment with IT and GSM objectives
• Conducts market intelligence research to identify relevant IT category benchmarks and leading practices
• Works with IT category stakeholders to identify value-generating opportunities within the category
• Develops / documents category strategy that addresses stakeholder objectives and value-generating opportunities
• Defines pipeline of category execution activities (e.g., sourcing, supplier management, demand management, etc.) to implement the IT category strategy
• Develops and implements strategic sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with the Category Strategy for strategic categories
• Create a data driven environment to support the decisioning process
• Works with stakeholders to identify preferred suppliers in each IT subcategory and to promote use of those preferred suppliers
• Conducts / leads supplier management activities for key preferred suppliers
• Collaborates with category stakeholders to manage alignment to category strategy
• Collaborates with IT stakeholders and with GSM to track and report category spend, savings, and performance
• Provides guidance as needed to buyers on category insights and strategies for support / execution of tactical purchases
• Manages the hiring, staffing and maintaining of a diverse and effective workforce
• Encourage a teaching culture to drive career development and continuous improvement
Requirements : Skills/Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree and 13+ years relevant experience, or Graduate degree and 10-12 years relevant experience
• Strong understanding of the IT function and key IT functional strategies and concepts
• Experience and understanding of the IT spend subcategories (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)
• Understanding of demand management and specification management concepts as related to IT spend
• Experience conducting strategic sourcing (including RFx) in the subcategories of IT (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)
• Experience negotiating contracts in the subcategories of IT (Hardware, Software, Communications, and IT Services)
• Understanding of Category Management process
• Data Analytics to drive decisioning
• Experience conducting supplier relationship management
• Advanced leadership and collaboration skills with ability to build effective relationships and influence peers and key stakeholders
• Advanced networking capabilities, within and outside of SBD
• Advanced interpersonal, motivational and leadership skills
• Advanced ability to motivate and influence others
• Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks, assign resources, manage progress, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflict, build consensus, and motivate team members across multiple projects concurrently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to the given audience, present information in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to prioritize, organize and multitask in a flexible, fast-paced and challenging environment
• People management – leadership ability
