Position Summary:



The Contract Database Specialist reports into the Director of Sourcing of the Supply Chain Sourcing team at Johns Hopkins Health System (JHHS) and is responsible for supporting the sourcing team with contracting. This includes a variety of activities including, but not limited to, reviewing contracts, providing support to sourcing team as needed, accurately recording material terms in contract files of the Ecteon contract management system as per JHHS policy and procedures, activating GPO contracts (e.g. ensuring the right tiers are activated per the sourcing team instructions), managing and reporting on contract expiry, reviewing contracts for key insights and information, facilitating electronic signature processing, providing customer service and supporting with sourcing projects as needed. These activities should at all times be aligned with the vision for the future of Supply Chain, namely, sourcing the best quality products at the best price, treating customers with service orientation and focusing on supply chain excellence internally.
Requirements : Competencies:

Education:
A relevant bachelor’s degree is required.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of supply chain contract management. Excellent knowledge of legal and contract language and knowledge of contract review techniques in order to identify materials terms and conditions of contract. Knowledge of GPO and local contracts. Knowledge of contracting database and understanding of supply chain policies and procedures. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Previous knowledge of healthcare required.

Skills:

• Ability to independently drive contract review in line with JHHS Supply Chain’s policies and procedures
• Ability to activate GPO contracts and conduct utilization analysis
• Deep analytics skills in order to attain key insights and information from contracts
• Ability to plan, organize, complete and manage contract records in the most efficient manner
• Relationship building, interpersonal, verbal and written communication and team-working skills
• Ability to manage internal customer relationships to ensure successful contract management
• Advanced knowledge of excel and ability to run reports, and analyze and interpret data
• Excellent customer service even in times of competing priorities and ambiguity
• Adaptable to changing circumstances, effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
• High attention to detail
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and spelling usage

Work Experience:
Minimum of 4 year of related experience

Machines, Tools, Equipment:
Microsoft office (especially Excel and Microsoft Word), contract database system and ERP Supply Chain applications

Prioritizes and organizes work to meet changing priorities. Makes decisions regarding work processes based on established guidelines.

Critical thinking in reviewing contracts and ability to highlight key information in contracts.

Information Management:
Must be able to use and understand contract management system and electronic signature program. Must also be able to generate reports and analyze and interpret data

Working Conditions:
Works in a normal office environment where there are few physical discomforts due to temperature, noise, dust, etc.

Experience above and beyond the work experience requirement will be considered in lieu of degree on a 2 years of experience for 1 year of education basis
