How You’ll Make an Impact
The Controller (North America) is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the day to day accounting operations of the North American accounting department, consolidating management reporting, managing critical accounting matters and control processes, and acquisition integration. This role is expected to provide input and accounting guidance to all managerial levels of the organization and consult with operating managers to drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives, both within the function and across the Company.

In the role, you would be responsible for:
• Providing coaching, direction setting and leadership to US, Canada and Mexico based Accounting teams
• Timely and accurate reporting of internal financial statements and reporting for use in global consolidation, including the performance of analytical reviews to ensure financial statement integrity
• Preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements and monthly operating results against budget and forecast; preparing ad hoc analyses to support business leaders
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies, while ensuring compliance with the system of financial and internal controls
• Functional ownership of the Company's ERP system (SAP) for Finance. Responsible for ensuring any significant changes are reviewed from a finance perspective and have been tested prior to the implementation of any changes
• Preparing short range estimates and annual departmental budgets and analysis against these estimated results
• Driving process improvement to enhance efficient transaction processing, accurate record keeping, streamlined financial reporting and optimized controls
• Reviewing financial results and processes to identify problems or areas of improvement and find appropriate solutions to resolve issues in a timely manner
• Assisting in external and internal audits through the preparation of schedules and communications with auditors
Requirements : What You’ll Need
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• Minimum of ten years experience in accounting and five years in a leadership role within large, industrial global company
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting
• Strong technical accounting and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build professional relationships
• Ability to positively drive change across multiple functions
• Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated and capable of monitoring and prioritizing competing tasks and projects
• Experience managing finance systems with large scale ERP (SAP experience a plus)
• Intermediate to advanced technology skills (Microsoft tools, databases, reporting software, presentation tools)
• Strong business acumen; ability to relate to and/or influence key constituents across the organization
• Strong problem solving/decision making skills; takes initiative to identify problems, uses judgment to find appropriate solutions and follows through on resolving issues in a timely manner
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
