Description : What you’ll be doing...
The Verizon Business Group (VBG) Strategy and Business Development team is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, priorities, and initiatives that lead toprofitable revenue growth. You will work with leaders across VBG, corporate stakeholders, and external resources to generate mid-term growth and shareholder value creation. This group analyzes and identifies VBG gaps, opportunities, market demand, and near-and mid-term strategies and generates insights and strategies to help inform:
• New business and profitable growth opportunities (organic and inorganic)
• Disruptive business models
• Emerging business trends (5G, Extended Reality, Real-Time Enterprise)
• In this role, you will rely on quantitative, financial, and qualitative analyses to determine the next growth inflection points for VBG and develop strategic recommendations. The portfolio of work spans across VBG businesses: Enterprise, Small and Medium Business, Public Sector, and Wholesale.
• Partner with leadership by leveraging market insights to identify and conceptualize new growth opportunities that will advance business goals
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire VBG portfolio in order to propose and analyze strategic decisions affecting multiple divisions
• Structure complex business problems into strategic frameworks that can be analyzed and solved
• Research and apply critical thinking to industry trends, competitor dynamics and current trends to provide relevant business insights
• Develop insights on industry challenges and new opportunities through competitive analysis and market research
• Synthesize findings and summarize a broad range of data inputs into frameworks that enable clear communication of data and insights
• Collaborate with key stakeholders—business unit executives, Verizon corporate finance and strategy teams—to uncover business opportunities and structure strategic recommendations
• Develop effective presentations
Requirements : What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
• Six or more years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, strategy, and / or business development
• Passion for arriving at the answer through a combination of independent research, financial analysis, competitive benchmarking and data; non-biased, fact-based strategy formulation
• Ability to synthesize information quickly and present insights to senior management
• Excellent financial modeling and problem solving skills
• Strong written communications skills and confidence engaging across various stakeholders
• Strong teaming orientation and relationship-builder
• MBA and / or post-grad.education
• Enthusiasm for disruptive technologies and the telcom / media / technology space
• Intellectual curiosity, creativity, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
